چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Nordic walking training has many benefits in improving the condition of the disabled elderly. Then the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Nordic walking training on plasma levels of PGC1α and SIRT6 in elderly women with diabetes. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 27 elderly women (age: 65.45±2.70 years) with type 2 diabetes were selected and randomly divided into control groups (n=14) and experimental groups (n= 13). Then, the experimental group performed exercise protocol of Nordic walking training, three days per week for eight weeks. Blood samples were collected before and after the training protocol. ELISA kit was used to measure the biochemical variables of the research. Results: The analysis of data showed that the levels of PGC1α and SIRT6 in the exercise group compared to the control group increased significantly (P<0.001) and glucose, insulin and resistance of insulin decreased significantly (P<0.001). Conclusion: Nordic walking training, could reduce glucose, insulin and resistance insulin and increases PGC1α and SIRT6 in elderly women with diabetes, and help improve the metabolic system of the elderly.

Mutual exacerbation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1α deregulation and α-synuclein oligomerization.
OBJECTIVE Aggregation of α-synuclein (α-syn) and α-syn cytotoxicity are hallmarks of sporadic and familial Parkinson disease (PD), with accumulating evidence that prefibrillar oligomers and protofibrils are the pathogenic species in PD and related synucleinopathies. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ coactivator 1α (PGC-1α), a key regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis and cellular ene...

skin aging is a continuous process that exhibits fine and deep wrinkles, thin and transparent skin, loss of underlying fat, dry skin and itch, following decreased collagen and elastin synthesis. both extrinsic and intrinsic agents are considered in the pathogenesis on skin aging. extrinsic factors such as sun exposure, windy and dry weather, nutrition, and lifestyle may induce premature aging,...

Introduction In a recent study published in “ARYA atherosclerosis,” Pourmoghaddas et al. reported that administration of pioglitzone in non-diabetic patients with metabolic syndrome had no positive effect on inflammatory markers including high sensitive C-reactive protein, interleukin-10 (IL-10), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α).1 Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are ligan...

Objective(s): Herbal medicines are promising cancer preventive candidates. It has been shown that Punica granatum L. could inhibit angiogenesis and tumor invasion. In this study, we investigated whether the anti-angiogenic effect of pomegranate peel extract (PPE) is partly attributable to Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) activation in the Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cell...
